Recently I have come across a very interesting video about a girl inventing a printer that can print makeup! According to her, we are being charged a premium on cosmetics products while the cosmetics companies make big bucks out of it. It really gets me thinking, am I one of those victim that falls into the sweet trap of fancy packaging with lots of chemical compounds which I didn’t even know how to pronounce?
Probably yes…
I remembered a line from the hit Korean drama “My Love from The Star”, it says that human needs to live in harmony with the nature in order to continue living. And if we were given a choice, why not go for clean label skin care?
Something made of natural ingredients and something less invasive on skin. Something which gives the same results as the big brands in expensive packaging?
Something like this?
A cleanser made from…
Aqua water, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Avocado Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Rice Bran Oil and Lavender Essential Oil.
It says sulfate and paraben free!
Surprisingly the foam formed is very dense and solid.
After I rub on face and wash it off, it makes my face so clean, as if every pores were being cleaned and rinsed.
The feeling is like washing face with soap bar (if you ever tried that), but without the tensed and sting sensation after washed.
Smell lavender fragrance as lavender oil is one of the ingredients and it is indeed very soothing.
After washing your face, it is the best to apply moisturizer within a short period. The principle is like applying lotion to your body straight after showering, to retain the moisture and keep the skin bouncy.
I am so honored to try on the custom made whitening moisturizer (also from Soap Gallery) containing:
Rose Hip Oil, Wheatgerm Oil, Safflower Oil, Hamamelis/Witch-Hazel Dope, Hyaluronic Acid, Areginine Essence, Vitamin E, Aloe Vera Gel, Emulsifier, Grape Fruit Essence Oil and Lavender Essence Oil.
Very watery I must say, it glides just like any serum.
Apply after toner. The watery texture makes it easy to cover the face evenly. A bit greasy, suitable for dry and aging skin, because it really helps to retain moisture. I use it after the serum and before the sunscreen. The whitening results isn’t very obvious (probably because I only used it for 2 weeks) and the moisturizing effect is perfect.
The only downside of it would be it can’t be kept long (about 2 months from the production date) due to its natural ingredients and without any preservatives in it. Which happens to be a good thing!
Because you will always be using the fresh one!!
This is a very special product, because it can be custom-made to suit your own skin type, I call it the “personalized skin care”. 80g of it selling at about RM40-RM60, depending on the ingredients and essential oils that you choose.
