The moment when I saw this dress, it really resembles the blue green fish scales that we sometimes see on a blue fish in the sea. The magical combination changes colours under different lightings, reflecting hues of blue and green, which I find very intriguing. “It would make a great party dress”, that is what I thought when I decided to make it mine.
Few days later, when I try it on again in my own closet, I started to feel very different about this dress. It has a deep U back and very flattering three quarter sleeves. It reminds me of a mermaid, or a siren depicted in the ancient mythology. And this has become the inspiration for this particular photoshoot.
In our ever-changing world, women have evolved to become multi-faceted. They have turned into new complex creatures who are generally doing the best they can, with what they have. They are capable of jumping from one role to another in split second.
As depicted in the ancient mythology, the sirens are beautiful and dangerous. The futuristic sirens’ constantly changing appearances are results from adaptation to the fast-paced world and over-stimulation.
The round sunglasses here serve as an emotional barrier to filter out inappropriate or unnecessary feelings that might ruin the decoy. A siren has no time to waste.
This was a passion project of mine. I worked with AN Art Home Studio to have this concept photographed, and I am in awe when I see all the pictures. It was such a breathtaking moment for me, it is like my own fantasy comes true.
Hope you enjoy these pictures as much as we enjoy crafting it.
If you like the dress, it is from H&M.
I genuinely feel happy. Because I am still (able to) dreaming at this age. They said men without dreams are like birds without wings. I hope I am able to hold on to my dream as long as I could. Wishing you a nice week ahead.
God bless you.
